Josh Gamblin, a regular at Montpelier Speedway and a member of The Moo Crew for 2025, initially thought the idea of a $100,000-to-win race for Front Wheel Drives was a joke or a scam. After weeks of seeing posts about the event, he realized it was real and set to take place at Kokomo Speedway, August 1-2, as part of the XR Events Woombah Series. Josh, born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana, lives so close to the track he can see its scoring tower from his house. This proximity fueled his desire to enter the race, and he began preparing.

Racing runs deep in Josh’s family, with grandparents on both sides and his father having competed at Kokomo Speedway. Josh started racing in high school, assembling an engine for a Street Stock his dad owned and hitting the track. After starting a family, he switched to the Front Wheel Drive class for affordability, competing regularly at Kokomo Speedway and winning two championships there.
When asked how he’s preparing for such a high-stakes race, Josh quoted his dad: “To finish first, you must first finish.” His focus is on ensuring his car is mechanically sound and staying mentally sharp, prioritizing a strong finish. Starting the main event alone guarantees a $2,000 payday—his career’s biggest race earnings so far.
Josh is also studying the rules package and researching his competitors for the weekend. The event uses passing points, opening opportunities for race strategy not typically seen in regular races. While winning the $100,000 isn’t his primary focus, and he has no specific plans for the prize money, his wife and son wouldn’t mind a trip to Florida.
The Moo Crew is a new partnership between racers and Montpelier Speedway for the 2025 season, offering drivers enhanced benefits as they support the speedway. To learn more about The Moo Crew or to join, visit https://www.milkmanpromotions.com/pricing-plans/list.
