Ron's story
Team: Hulbert’s Racing (in collaboration with Roby’s Racing)
I began my racing career in 1993 at the age of 18, competing at Oakshade Raceway for five years. After the birth of my daughter, I stepped away from the sport for 20 years to focus on family life.
In 2019, everything changed when my boys asked to go watch a race — and within just a few weeks, I found myself back behind the wheel with a new car in the garage.
By 2020, my boys wanted to race too, so we added two more cars to the team, including our first Hornet. In 2021, my daughter caught the racing bug as well, so we picked up another Hornet just for her.
Over the past seven years, I've been fully immersed in the racing world again — not only driving but also learning how to build our own cars. I’ve competed at Oakshade, Hartford, Sandusky, and Montpelier Speedways, and I’m proud to share the track with my family and teammates.
Racing is more than a passion — it’s a family tradition.
